this Leo New Moon
is a big lunation for putting our collective effort and heart out into the world– into the powers that be. AKA not just a big week, but big lunar cycle for our capacity for heartfelt output
This week we have a big big new moon. It’s so potent because all three of the outer planets are directly involved in a big way. The sun and moon are obviously conjunct— that is what makes it a new moon— but the two of them together are sexiling Uranus, trining Saturn and Neptune, and opposing Pluto. And, because this is a New Moon in Leo, this new moon is ruled by the Sun. So it’s all a very big deal. The conglomeration of these aspects makes an aspect pattern known as a cradle. Tighter, though, is the wedge with Neptune/Saturn. But regardless- we have the Sun and Moon, then Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto, all here in the energy of this lunation.

The thing is that all of these outer planets, with the exception of Pluto which is in sort of a halfsie situation i’ll explain in a second- they’re supporting the moon and sun. they’re not involved by harsh aspect— they’re involved by sextile and trine, which are supportive, flowing, perhaps like flowing towards constructivity, towards output, towards production of something. Like, rather than productive via destruction. They’re flowing.
Pluto, however, is in opposition, which, technically, is a harsh aspect. They’re opposite and sort of facing each other. but Aquarius and Leo really can get along when their values align; which they really can.
Ok Ok. So this is the big moon for BRINGING OUR HEART ALIVE AND INTO THE MIX OF ULTRA CEREBRAL TECH PRODUCTION.
You have something the robots don’t— a heart. blood. feeling. love.
We have something the cold don’t.
The cold empires, the tech monsters, the inhumane giants, the ones fixated on the direction of our minds but not at all the preservations of our hearts— the place that i would say is the true root of our humanity. (Because. If you try to ask what is different between a robot and human, and we know a robot is not a human, the difference is feeling, it is blood, is it heart, it is body. Therefore , the capacities of those entities IS something about human definition, human nature. )
So this new moon is significant because the most personal of planets, the luminaries, are communicating with these outer planets, these planets which generally feel like sort of above or out of our touch, more than human in their influence. our heart, our heart, our heart— our selves, our lights, our egos, our bodies, our feelings, our engines, our souls—
I think it’s powerful for really bringing our own hearts back into the world we’re seeing. into our every day activity, our own hearts and life force and love and expression and authenticity. let your empathy move you, let your grief move you to shine light on what is still here.
Apparently a lot of the pop culture general consensus of leo is that they are self centered and self absorbed and self interested. this is true in many ways— Leo is the light of the Sun, and it shines so bright that it needs that light reflected back to it sometimes. (Our sun has an entire entire system of planets in its orbit which reflect its light back to it all of the time, except for when one planet may pass through another planets shadow.) It needs reflection. It needs to know its light is for something. It needs something to shine upon— not just a dark abyss, not just the void. our sun has planets around it.
That is leo. A developed leo— the heart of the truth of leo— is that every single person has their own unique light which deserves to shine; that our collective human experience is the best when each human light is expressed, witnessed, reflected. Leo shines to tell others that IT IS OK TO SHINE. We all need to shine.
We all need to add our shine out into the world— but we all only have so much energy, so much output, so much light to give to the world. so we must be respectful of others boundaries and limitations— of when they are not capable of witnessing us, our soul’s light. It is all about reciprocity. Healthy Leo is about reciprocal worship; the love of taking turns in the light, at the mic, and sharing in the joy of basking in each other’s rays.
The major national and global events that have occurred thus-far this summer have coincided with the transits of the outer planets. The outer planets are very much representative of collective and societal forces— forces that seem larger than just you are able to take on on your own.
So this moon is incredibly powerful for bringing you back to your heart, your inspiration, all of the things that make you feel alive amidst the terrifying unknown and disorder we find ourselves in at this time. For making your heart heard and known. You, dear child of the earth— you are precious because you are here. Your hurt means you are alive.
