OOF: The Astrology of June 9-15, 2025

Jupiter in Cancer, Mercury square to Aries, Venus square to Pluto, and Mars square to Uranus. A huge week that we’re already in. Times– they are a changin’.

This week is an absolute doozy. I am now editing this after releasing some of the pressure in my previous post. I never finished interpreting all the transits, but here is what I have. Here, we talk about Jupiter entering Cancer, Mercury squaring Saturn, Venus squariung Pluto, Mars trining Chiron, and lastly, and importantly, Mars squaring Uranus. I wasn’t going to post this. But I wrote it, so I’m going to.

Quickly on the full moon: The Full Moon, which I won’t fully interpret, is in Sagittarius this week is ruled by Jupiter, which has just moved into Cancer and is squaring Saturn and Neptune in Aries. The full moon itself is also square the nodes, thus creating a mutable grand cross. And then lastly, the moon at 20° Sag is trining Chiron in Aries and Mars in Leo, making this lunation firey and impassioned, motivated towards expressive movement and healing action.

There’s a bunch of different stuff going on. Let’s start with Jupiter’s ingress into Cancer. This is generally regarded as a good thing— Jupiter, the greater benefic, is exalted in Cancer, and thus extra supported in its orientation towards growth, abundance, and even luck. Every astrologer is talking about this, as it brings welcome growth to the area of our charts pained by Mars’ extended stay there earlier this year. This is really fresh and beautiful— our old wounds finally get flushed out and cleaned by a surge of clean salt water. Jupiter in Cancer means we are supported in restoring a beautiful, nurturing flow.

Jupiter in Cancer: Jupiter in Cancer brings an abundance of feeling of nurture, care, protection. The Crab exists in the tide, which ebbs and flows with the moon. It retreats to its shell when the tides are too rough.

Cancer protects its body and offspring. It is the protective instinct to nurture. Like any energy, it can be weak or strong. Too strong, it expresses as the prioritization of one’s own over the collective. The instinct to hunker down and play it safe and protect your own walls and shells from the influence of the outside. I want everyone to be cautious of their own self-preservation instincts, and to remember that ultimately, all water is shared. There is no true freedom until everyone is free. Everything is a balance. Yes, protect yours— but remember to extend the reach of that empathy and care as much as you are able. This signature, for me, is warning me about the current state of nationalism, both domestic and abroad. For us specifically in the empire of the US, I am watching very closely for any political initiatives regarding child-rearing. I am paying attention to the rise of Mormon influence. I am watching for hypocrisy of those who say they love children, but turn away from Gaza, from the current crisis in our cities as children are torn from their parents, from their local foster care systems.

Mercury in Cancer Squaring Saturn in Aries: So Jupiter moves into Cancer on Monday. On the same day, Mercury in early Cancer squares Saturn in Aries. Mercury is communication, thoughts, information spreading, and Saturn is structures, discipline, and adherence to time. Mercury, in Cancer, wants to spread messages of nurturance. This will be challenged by the systems— and with Saturn in Aries, all I am thinking about is the system of war, the global military industrial complex, and how, at this time, it will feel like it is really trying to, or successfully, intervene with our pursuits for comfort and safety. Personal logistical processes may come up against beaurocratic red tape— red tape that may be new, or violent, or both. It’s also squaring Neptune, which is the visions we have for ourselves, our new direction, a new reality, our new dreams and hopes. So again, there is friction between the ways we are communicating and pursuing nurturance and care, and the ideals we currently hold.

Venus in Taurus Squaring Pluto in Aquarius: The same day, Venus in Taurus squares Pluto in Aquarius, signifying that new tech and AI and data centers may significantly challenge environmental values. Or rather, this may be a big day for environmental ethics and values to challenge the environmental impact of tech. On a personal level, you may feel like your values, or pleasures, are being confined or held back by something larger than yourself— something collective, something massive. But the friction of the square is excellent for value investigation and alignment— for challenging your value set and interrogating the way you live it. Friction can build a fire, and we all need our own fires. Your pleasures, values, wonder, visions, grief— they can all give to each other. It is a good time for making physical art as a way to process your thoughts and feelings about the state and direction of humanity.

Mars in Leo Trining Chiron in Aries: Tuesday is also a good time for working on your fire because of the trine between Mars in Leo and Chiron in Aries. This signifies a healthy flow of illuminated stimulation between the way you can authentically express yourself and the way that you’re healing yourself in some big way. You can really move and be active and expressive in a way that lends to your healing of self, of your own and others self-concept. This is a great time for participating in or watching performance art of any kind— for remembering the healing force of expression and joyful movement. In the right environments, witnessing the fire of others really can help to revitalize your own. This energy is still active at the time of the Full Moon in Sagittarius, and only 6° away from the moon itself, meaning it will likely be able to be felt in the energy of the full moon.

Like I said, I am not interpreting the full moon. So now I skip to the last transit of the week, which is exact on Sunday, but we can feel it throughout the week, and it is very, very important. That is the square between Mars in Leo and Uranus in Taurus.

Mars in Leo Squaring Uranus in Taurus: This is stimulating, to say the least. It is so intensely stimulating— it can be activating, angering— in a way that has us moving quickly, hastily, passionately. This is a signature of activism and resistance. But it can get chaotic when lots of people are moving quickly, highly motivated, and intensely activated. People can skip over regular observations and routine steps of safety. So there is an element here that can really signify some major accidents.

It is accident prone astrology, but I need to emphasize that this can actually be devastating. I don’t want to give the data to support it here, but please know that I am not fear mongering, and I am ALSO not telling you that you have to stay super safe by hiding indoors. I am just reminding the importance of regular safety protocols, which we can skip over at times. I am telling you to buckle up, to wear a helmet, to install a dash cam, to double check all your harnesses and pulleys, to exercise extreme awareness and caution. The energy will be restless and impulsive— many people, this week, are going to be tending towards doing the exact opposite. Fast nervous system, a chaotic environment- it all can have us moving a bit recklessly, if not angrily. This is also protesting energy— remember your safety plans. Your first aid supplies. Be on high alert. Watch for chaos and be mindful of the constructiveness of your contributions. Sometimes all this stuff going on in and around us can make us lose complete sight of the simple fact that our animation, our life, is dependent upon our physical bodies, which are subject to force. An object — the snap of a tree, the rush of a car— can take it all away from you. Please, please, be careful this week. You don’t have to hide out inside your house— just try, to the best of your ability, to pay attention to your surroundings and implement all regular safety procedures; don’t skip over them.

That being said, I am sure that this will be a big weekend for revolutions across the globe. Pay attention to your surroundings as best you can. And remember that your light is important and sacred, and we need you to share it, to live it, to grow it hot and loud while you’re here.

Signing off now. Take care of each other.
