Astrologers don’t engage in this work because we believe in astrology.

We practice it because the more we understand its technique, the more it reveals itself as an uncannily accurate.

The more we study, the more we discover its function as an incredibly predictable, matter-of-fact science. It becomes inescapable, the relevance. We see it. This, the seeing, typically comes before belief. Most serious astrologers are incredibly logical and science-oriented. Once we have seen it before our eyes so clearly, eventually, we have no chance to believe that the mechanistic operations of the local cosmos may not be exactly what we previously conceived.

Astrology quickly becomes a spiritual experience for the new client of a good astrologer.

Astrology is functional because it can give you deep insight into really any area of your life, as well as helpful tools to work with. It can be used to find peace, synergy, flow, and resolution during really monumental moments of your life. There is a spiritual resonance that happens as a result of experiencing being truly seen and witnessed in a way you didn’t know you could be. It draws into question your framework for relating to reality. You feel part of something larger than yourself, held by something universal— or at least, galactic. It is often an experience of deep spiritual awe. Even still, after deepening my knowledge of astrology for almost half of my life, I am consistently bewildered by the accuracy of this work. It has been proven that experiences of wonder and spiritual significance can help facilitate nervous system regulation and the neurophysiological rewiring of trauma.

Contemporary social science science stands by the fact that right relationship is an integral part of healing, that holistic health is, to some degree, dependent upon the health of our relationships. Fostering healthy, trusting, and growth-focused relationships has been the primary functional role of all of my professional work in the public, non-astrological world for the last 10 years. I have always been deeply appreciated for my authentic orientation toward the development, fostering, and maintenance of correct, healthy, nurturing relationships for the people under my professional care. This is, of course, my primary motivator.
