Monday 5/19 – Sunday 5/25 | A Portal

The Sun and Mercury enter Gemini and Saturn moves into Aries. This week begins and ends in to completely different energies. We will be something else on Sunday.

PLEASE NOTE: THIS WAS ORIGINALLY PUBLISHED ON 5/19/25 TO MY SUBSTACK, WHICH YOU CAN ACCESS BY CLICKING HERE.

This week begins and ends in very different energies, as multiple planets make their transition from earth and water into air and fire. The most significant of which is Saturn, which leaves Pisces for Aries late Saturday night. This is preceded, and energized, by the Sun’s exit of Taurus for Gemini, and followed by Mercury’s journey from and to the same signs. The energetic shift from Pisces and Taurus to Aries and Gemini, especially when occurring in pairs and on both inner and outer planetary levels, is stark, jarring to say the least. But typically a much welcome relief of pressure and sensory input, and a shift towards action and connection.

Here are the transits at a glance (all listed in EST):

Tuesday 5/20 Sun in Taurus Sextiles Saturn in Pisces 29°38’ | 5:38a Third Quarter Moon in Aquarius 29°43’ | 7:59a 🌓 ♒ Sun Enters Gemini | 2:55p

Thursday 5/22 Venus in Aries Trines Mars in Leo 16°00’ | 3:42a Sun in Gemini Sextiles Neptune in Aries 01°40’ | 8:40a

Saturday 5/24 Sun in Gemini Trines Pluto in Aquarius 03°44’ | 11:55a Mercury in Taurus Conjoins Uranus in Taurus 27°42’ | 7:15p Saturn Enters ARIES!!!!! | 11:36p

Sunday 5/25 Mercury Enters Gemini | 8:59p Mercury in Gemini Sextiles Saturn in Aries 00°04’ | 9:45p

On Monday, the Sun is in Taurus and the Moon is in Aquarius. Tomorrow, there will be a third quarter moon in Aquarius, marking the 75% checkpoint for the journeys begun at the new moon in Taurus. Use this day to connect with the earth and your environment. Notice how it feeds into your cognitive landscape, your intellect, your desire for high level connection, human and community development, your sense of humanity and the direction you want it to go in. Connect the esoteric to the grounded, the tangible, and recognize the information and truth that can only come from being one with our environment. Remember this fact and carry it with you through the week. Remember your rootedness, remember that it is necessary for any innovative plans you want to disperse.

This pursuit is supported by a sextile between the Sun at 29° Taurus and Saturn at 29° Pisces, which is building Monday and exacts at 5:38am EST on Tuesday. There is a real, supportive flow here— an ability for you to really take everything you have learned from Saturn in Pisces (and Saturn for the last 30 years) into your real, grounded, material reality. To weave it into your values, your pleasures, your world right here— your sustenance.

Then, in the afternoon on Tuesday, the sun enters Gemini, speeding up our communication, communities, networking, mind, and nervous systems. To take your values, your experiences, your treasures, into your life via your friendships, siblings, partnerships, and neighborhoods.

Wednesday, the Sun is in Gemini and the Moon is now in Pisces. This is the last day, until later this year, that Saturn is in Pisces with the moon there as well. The moon is a daily emotional vibe. I am watery, so take that into consideration, but I would revel a bit in this energy . get liminal. Seep in the treasure of that space. know that you gained much from this journey around. you have been in a birth canal and are about to burst forth into the light — take this moment of slowness, of liminality, of the embrace of the pressure of darkness and time. of the esoteric. of the psychological. of the thematic, undoing, the dark, the in between, the end of the tunnel where the pressure is almost released. the sun is in gemini now, which means there is an energy flow of communication, of thinking, of speaking, of networking, of partnership. open a door between this part of you, this cognitive and verbal part of you, and the part of you that has been weighed down, in the void, undergoing massive pressure.

I say all of this— I do I do— because like I said, I am watery and going through a major personal Piscean signature, so I really love that energy and I am going to miss it. But we also have some major firey relational stuff building up today.

The sun has just moved into Gemini, which is already super relational. But throughout the day Wednesday, we experience the application of a trine between Venus in Aries and Mars in Leo, each at 16°00’. This exacts at 3:42am eastern time.

Wooooooooooooooooooh baby!!!!!! Woooooohooooo. Haha. Ha. Ha ha. Hell yeah woohoo hold on to your hats and pants is how this is and makes me feel. Listen. This is sexy. This is firey. This is super relational. This is incredibly, just massively, just wonderfully sexy and flirtatious firey and charismatic and confident and, did I say firey? Hot damn. Honestly. Wahoo. Neptune is also sitting at 1° Aries, giving us all a new sense of ideals and inspiration about the assertion of our own selfhoods. This paired with Venus in Aries, which is a super firecracker of an alluring ass flirt. Then Mars in Leo, which is a super firecracker of a charasmatic ass lover. You’ll be feeling powerful, performative, wanting to attract and to shine, to be seen; to really get feedback that you’re being seen, and that you’re good at whatever you’re doing.

This signature on its own is a pretty fun and sexy energy, yeah, it is. And you can potentially choose to tap into just this, and to ignore the piscean energy. That doesn’t mean that the Pisces stuff won’t happen or isn’t significant— it definitely is. But Pisces is prone to ignoring, to dissociation, to separation of itself from the problem. So, I give you it on its own, and all together.

It’s not just the last Pisces moon with Saturn in Pisces— as the trine between Venus and Mars gets stronger, the Moon in Pisces will go over the North Node. Your heart is likely to go to places dredged up by some previous eclipses, and to really be considering what you want to lean towards, grow into and out of, in the Pisces and Virgo ruled areas of your chart.

The thing is, our deep emotions, our spirituality, how we take care of our bodies and our minds— it all is absolutely related to, informs, and sometimes completely drives how we interact relationally. It’s precisely because there is so much stimulating relational energy that I suggest you take advantage of the Piscean energy we have— to help you stay a little bit longer in the values of this space.

The relational energy is building MORE because of an exact solar aspect applying today and exact tomorrow morning. At 8:40am est, the Sun in Gemini will sextile Neptune in Aries at 1°40’. This is really super stimulating for inspiration regarding how you want to be in relationship, in community, in dynamicism. You might get lots of new ideas and inspiration for how you can contribute to relationship, for what you want from relationship, from the people around you. It might also have you actually being a bit self interested about those relationships. Its kind of giving the fact that everybody will be thinking about how to optimize themselves, their own big desires and dreams and what they want to do with themselves. So, for those in partnership, and for those in relationship with anyone, which is everyone — remember that we are our best, we learn the most about love and joy and life, when the people around us are also flourishing. To get both and all of our needs met requires balance, patience, collaboration— and we have collaboration and willingness of discussion, but we do NOT have the slowness required to truly find balance, which comes not from the mind, but from listening to the needs of the body. Once the moon has moved into Aries, we are firing hotter, picking up, and really imbibed with the energy we need to push ourselves out of this Saturnian birth canal. This energy continues through Friday, when the moon remains in Aries but we experience no exact planetary transits. Saturday, though, is a big day.

Saturday, Saturday. Here’s what’s happening. at 11:55am EST, the sun in Gemini is trining Pluto in Aquarius at 3°44’. Then in the evening: At 7:15p, we have a conjunction between Mercury and Uranus at 27°42’ Taurus, and at 11:36pm, Saturn moves into Aries. So let’s break it down.

The Sun trining Pluto really says something about the urge for recognition, for power, influence, severity. Specifically for my communities, I think this looks great for social justice work, for internal social justice work— for a meaningful flow between your urge for humanism and your relationships. One thing about Aquarius is that it’s actually incredibly idealistic, and has rigid conceptions about what is correct for humanity, for the world, and they believe that they are right. If you are in community with people who do not align on such things, this may become troublesome, as the trine with the Sun in Gemini asks us to bring these ideals, these teachings, into our relationships, the people around us, the communications we distribute. So, for those who are in community with people aligned with them, I think this is super juicy for meaningful, connective facilitation.

Facilitation will be necessary, because the conjunction between Mercury and Uranus in Taurus is something that, when we’re speaking relationally, really is both quite stubborn and looking for change. In relationship, this can be being pretty stubborn about how you communicate/work with others regarding some big change, some big inspiration that you have. We have all been experiencing a big journey as Uranus has travelled through the Taurus ruled parts of our charts, and for a while now we have been feeling some real physical and material changes in that area of life. We’ve probably been struggling with these changes and are eager to get their necessary revolutions completed. Mercury conjoining Taurus means we are likely to get some pretty good insights, some good reflection, about what this area of our chart and Uranus’s journey through it has asked and demanded of us. But again, because Taurus is fixed, it is stubborn, (just like Aquarius,) so it can have a difficult time balancing out its sensory needs and preferences with others. Again, if this becomes a struggle for you, my advice would be to get rooted into the relational needs of Taurus— remember that sensory pleasures and joys, peace, is best and most true when distributed amongst and shared between individuals.

Then, at the end of the day, Saturn makes its great exit of Pisces and entrance into Aries. A great weight lifts. An urge to do everything, all at once emerges. A quick paced ness— a perception of all time as happening this instant and the one right in front of us. Thats the funny thing about Pisces and Aries. For both of them, all of time exists in the present. But for Pisces, the focus is on all of time, for Aries, it is the Present. All Pisces knows is Everything. All Aries knows is the immediate now— what is right in front of it. This is a huge change for all of us in terms of how we approach everything. I am not going to elaborate on Saturn in Aries here— I will be writing about it on my website, and will share that when its available. But the big piece is: if your Saturn is in Aries: congratulations, sincerely— your Saturn return has officially begun. I mean that sincerely. Welcome to the beginning of your initiation into adulthood. You’ll know what I mean when you get here. Pay attention to what comes up at the ingress, on this day, and in the common weeks, as it is typical for you to have a pretty big event contributing to your overall Saturn return story right there at the beginning. Don’t be scared, it’s fine, really. I am so happy for you. Again though, take that with a grain of salt: I am feeling really lovey dovey ooey gooey about the Saturn Return, but in my Saturn return chart, Venus is right there conjunct Saturn. Also, other Saturn stuff like I said. So. That might just be me, right now.

If your natal Saturn is in Pisces, however, your Saturn return is not over. Rather, you get a trial period— a sense for what life will be like once Saturn has exited our natal sign for good, and for how to use the tools of our Saturn return, our natural endurance, within all other future energies. So we get to practice. This is sort of a stamp on our Saturn return— it’s the first ending, but not the final ending. It’s a bit of relief. But Saturn will come back to these late degrees of Pisces later this year, where it will stay for several months. Then is when we will get our final lessons, do our final integrations.

So, ta da! Saturn is now in Aries! Wahoooo! A welcome relief of pressure, an orientation toward forward movement. And this speeds up fast, because on Sunday evening, Mercury enters Gemini and promptly sextiles Saturn. Our minds suddenly speed up to match the pace of our relational impulses— and sextiles Saturn, inspiring new ideas and commitments and new things you want to do right now and ways you want to burst forth with life, as well as inspiring you to talk about them with others. Mercury is home in Gemini, and it is so so fast, so discussion oriented, so fun, so desiring of communication with everything around it. It wants to go out and do stuff, to build a whole new life all right now at this moment.

That’s not possible— stuff takes time. However, if we have our Piscean lessons in our pocket— if we remember, like Lucy Dacus facilitated us in understanding, that forever is a feeling and we know what we value from that forever— we can fold it into our present moment, our present expeditions and desires, to make our new pursuits all the more meaningful.

So here, on Sunday, we find ourselves released from a weight and into the light. We are somewhere else now.

Much love— I’ll see ya’ll on the other side.
